Freestyle skiing is an Olympic sport that combines snowboarding and skiing in five events, including halfpipe, slopestyle, moguls and aerials. This is a popular sport in North America and many other countries.

Aerials

Skiers perform flips and turns in the air while performing the freestyle skiing aerials. The sport is judged and the top 25 skiers are qualified for the final round.

Kingsbury wins Deer Valley World Cup for the 78th time

Mikael Kingbury, a Canadian, won his 78th FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup title on Saturday evening in Deer Valley resort in Utah. In the final, the Canadian defeated Australia's Matt Graham. This was his sixth World Cup victory and third gold medal of his career.

Kingsbury led for most of the race but Graham caught him up at the bottom. He fell on the final run, allowing Kingsbury to grab the gold and the 78th World Cup victory of his career.

Thenault's Olympic debut

Thenault, a Frenchwoman, made her Olympic debut on Saturday in the final of men's moguls freestyle skiing. She will be looking to make this a memorable experience. She is a former gymnast, but she only began skiing in 2017.

Thenault dominated the qualifiers, and was in the final four on each of her three runs, and will need to pull off at least one double full full (two flips with three twists) or a triple full full (three flips with three twists) in the finals to take home a gold medal.
